In the christian faith, Jesus forbade the abuse ie. beating, of women, and children. He was merciful to them because He knew what they suffered under the heal of disobiendent men who were not following God's word as it was presented in the old testiment, but when men repent and put their faith in Jesus, then they treat their wives with respect and kindness, Jesus forbade multiple marriage, He commanded that a man shall have but one wife. & to treat her gently, & patiently as the weaker vessel

In the bible Jesus treated women better then anyone else in His time. my experience when I converted to christianity was the opposite I was treated with more respect after I became a christian by the christians I met then by the non believers I knew befor, I was no longer pressured to have premarrital sex and I felt protected by other believers, I'm safe within the bountries that Jesus laid out for those who follow Him, I came to know Jesus at a women's bible study, Jesus loves all people.
