@joellie2010 My doctor told me to use the Ketocanzole until the condition subsided. Make sure to continue to use it even if the results aren't within the first day. I have been using ketocanzole for fours months off and on, depending on the condition of my sd. I don't have a specific soap but I like Head and Shoulders with selenium sulfide as a shampoo. Hope that Helps!

When I Later I used it again I had great results. After a couple of days my face was smooth, had no flakes, and was back to the way it used to look. The only issue with it was that I get sd on my forehead and with my tan now it is slightly offshade with the rest of my skin. I would go to a dermatologist and try to get something like ketoconazole cream. If you don't want anything to aggressive you can always use an antifungural like lotrimen but that doesn't work as well.

Nizoral works on the scalp. Then you can use it to also wash the face. I personally use Head and Shoulders mixed with nizoral and it works well. Although the H&S stings a little on the face.

Believe it or not i used an acne treatment for my seb dermatitis and it worked a treat. I got it sent over by mama nature from england. It is called teenage dream and i used it after reading someone on a forum had tried it for seb dermatitis. I will spread the word about it because if it has got rid of mine and surely it must help others also.

The most perfect product that absolutely eliminated my SB (as long as I kept using it on a daily basis) was the ZNP soap bar. For some odd reason, this product has been backordered for about 6 months now. I tried an alternative that I found on Amazon, and it didn't come close to ZNP. Now I use an alternative shampoo that contains 1% zinc for my face, but again, not as good as ZNP.

I have had SD my whole life. I do have flare ups, also. I was on a medicated shampoo as a child, but I cannot afford it now. The doctors never told me it was yeast, though. They said it was your body's natural oils called Sebum building up at such a rate as to cause your excess skin to be unable to shed properly. Now I wash my hair everyday twice and blow-dry. If you leave your hair wet it will cake the dead skin onto your scalp.

For the hair, use Hand and Shoulders Clinical Strength. My dandruff completely disappeared. My face, I haven't figured out. I'll try Neosporin as you suggest. Thanks!
