@animallover2297 Being skinny is not the most important thing in ballet. What really matters is the ability to touch people's hearts through dance.

For their ballet exam, why do they exchange their ballet shoes for jazz like shoes?

@girlthatlaughs Hi, what they are wearing is Character Dance shoes. Character dances are historical dances which are part of ballets. For example when you watch The Nutcracker and you see the Russian dance or the Arabian dance. Character dance is part of what our students have to learn to be able to complete their studies and obtain their diploma as Artistes de Ballet. By the way this December we are presenting the Nutcracker at the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts!

@girlthatlaughs Yes, ballet exams consist of several parts: barre, centre and corner and it is that long! Besides they also do the part that corresponds to Character Dance. Thanks for your comment!
