after some few cable chest flyes and some bench press warm-ups at 135lbs, 185lbs, 205lbs, 215lbs,(Only 205, 220 and 225 are showed in the video above) i finally hit 220lbs. after that, i tried and go for 225lbs but didn't get it. hopefully by next month, ima be able to do it. i was pretty tired by the time i hit 220lbs but oh well.
Any form or helpful comments would be nice. i want to improve my bench

  • You could have gotten that 225 up had you started with it. You probably tired yourself out with the other weights

  • Good control! I maxed at 390 weighing 162.  Here's a vid of me repping 315 x 8. I usually do 10 when I have a spotter.

  • You should arch your back, pull your shoulder blades in by trying to "pull the bar apart", and drive your legs really hard into the bench. I'm assuming you're going for a high bench, so you're better off using powerlifting form. It actually safer for your shoulders as well. Look up Dave Tate's "So you think you can bench?" series.

    Good lifting regardless though.

  • @apacheman15 The spotter is the best part. I love his energy. And it shows that he knew the lifter wouldn't need any help.
