Friday marked the two year anniversary of America's worst oil spill. British Petroleum was behind the disaster that took two months to maintain yet also spawned side-effects that caused a downward spiral in the economy, tourism and wildlife still to this day. In recent ads, images of green grass and beautiful water have been advertised in an attempt to lure people to the US Gulf coast. But is everything back to normal? Abby Martin takes a closer look at spill two years later.

I for one don't see any evidence of that in any effective democracy.

The answer to this perpetual problem is free energy. We just need blueprints.

The reason BP was freaking out and U.S. government almost went to defcon 5 is because... Nobody knows whats that deep underground... Oil is like digging into the unknown. What if that oil spill was more of a pocket rupture and the Oil contaminated the entire planet. We got lucky... this could have happened. It's like digging a hole and finding a diamond ring. Except this ring could have been a thistle.

I was in Louisiana and New Orleans in Oct 2011 tourism is thriving there, seafood is the best I have tasted its better than San Francisco, and we went to the swamps and the wildlife is amazing there. Things are looking better. BP is a big part of income for the people who live there and for the outsiders who bash BP you don't realize they provide means for thousands of people in the Gulf
