I honestly don't know what the Flyers were thinking... You've got a 26-year old captain, locked up for 10 more years for reasonable money, you're a contending team, and you trade him? Schenn's going to be good, but even at his peak he won't be what Richards is now, and Richards may not even be at his peak. He's not the leader or physical presence that Richards is either. Simmonds, as much as I love him, is a 3rd liner. I'm not complaining though, very excited to have Mike Richards on my Kings.

@bryansensei I agree... Flyers are going have a hard time replacing what Richards did. I will say this.. Richards was a good player but not a good captain. He gets lazy and seems uninvolved sometimes. You'll see.

@bryansensei Actually, I will miss Simmonds a little bit, I don't know. But I just really appreciated what he, Clifford, and Richardson did for us on the SOS line.

@jules801 Don't worry, we'll treat him right. The Kings will be changing their jersey designs next season, I intend to but the new road sweater. I'll definitely be purchasing the one with Mike's number on it.
I wonder what that number will be though, 18 is Dave Taylor's old number hanging up in the Staples Center..
