what is this i don't even know...

Nancarrow is best remembered for the pieces he wrote for the player piano. He was one of the first composers to use musical instruments as mechanical machines, making them play far beyond human performance ability. He lived most of his life in relative isolation, not becoming widely known until the 1980s. Today, he is remembered as one of the most original and unusual composers of the 20th century.

Can you see how his music has inspired musicians of today? Namely Buckethead ;)

  • If you check the Wikipedia page, it says that this is written in an irrational time signature. It's actually a ratio that can't be made into a whole number. Just crazy.

  • It's pianola. which means, that it's mehanic piano, and doesn't need a player :)

  • IMO, it doesn't actually sound that good.

  • but fluffay alredy fced dis.

  • Danny can't FC this shiz.

  • @vampirereconsint Nah, this only has 3, sometimes 4 different tones. 1 tone per hand, so you would only need 2. Still would be hella hard, and probably would be much better to play with more, but 2 people minimum :)

  • You might need more, actually.

I mean, listen to Death Piano. That is a piano quartet.

  • This is pretty freaking awesome. Impossible to actually play on a piano, lol. On one piano that is. Might be able to play it as a duet
