I was a sailor aboard the USS Guam during that time. The few times I did go ashore in Lebanon I found it to be a beautiul land filled with beautiul people. The barracks bombing was a tragedy but your message gives me hope for the future.

Only someone who has seen the devastation that war brings to the innocent people involved could understand the depth of suffering intolerance brings to a nation. It is an honor you have done serving both the United States of America and the Lebanese people. Collateral damage is not an acceptable term for the loss of human life. Regardless of ones religious affiliation. I hope our next generation will fare better than we have in this world. ALL life is precious.
