  • Nice job, first time I heard that was about 30 years ago when I came across an LP of the Camp Creek Boys, I believe Fred Cockerham was on fiddle and Kyle Creed was on banjo.

  • That Camp Creek Boys album has been a constant companion of mine for 6 years. John Specker introduced me to it, and I've just about worn a hole in the CD. Great music!

  • That's a calfskin head, right? Wonderful sounding banjo. Do you need to adjust the head very often?

  • Yes, this is a very thin calfskin head. I haven't adjusted the head at all yet, but with the humidity increasing I probably will have to tighten it a bit.

It's been trouble free thus far, and I'm thinking of using them on my other instruments.

  • Sweet! Is that a Jason Romero? I love the slotted peghead.

  • It sure is a Romero. I just got it a couple of months ago, and I absolutely love it.

  • The neck on Jason's banjo is a bit James Ashborn-ish . Great plkaying Tom . All the best , Guy

  • What key is this tune?

  • what is the tone ring in that romero??

  • nice banjo work! I bet john would be proud of your rendition....I definately here his influence in this tune. It would be fun to have him accompany you on this sometime....huh? :) thanks for the music!

  • Great!

  • Sounds like plain old A-tuning:

aEAC#E. Same as standard G capoed up two frets, this guy just didn't bother with the capo and tuned right up. That's what I do too.

  • really love this - what tuning are you in please?

  • hey you rip me apart with that clawhammer man, bloody brilliant mate.

  • very nice

  • love your voice!
