The Van Buskirk family would like to express our gratitude to all who attended Terri's Resurrection Service. Special thanks to all her students who sang for her. We could picture Terri directing from heaven with a huge smile on her face. Praise the Lord!! Terri loved teaching each one of you and you inspired her to fight with all she had. In her words "be good, and make her proud!"
It was a very moving and loving service. Terri would have been so proud of her students both present and past.

Terri Marie Van Buskirk, age 33, of Reedsburg, died on Wednesday, April 7, 2010, following a courageous six year battle with cancer. She was born on March 29, 1977, in Black River Falls, the daughter of Gene and Beverly (DeForth) Van Buskirk. Terri was a graduate of Arcadia High School. She received her Bachelors Degree in vocal music education from Viterbo University in December 2001. Terri had been employed as the choral instructor at Reedsburg Area High School since the fall of 2002. She was blessed with a beautiful soul that could recognize and appreciate the beauty in Gods creation. Terris love of music and teaching sustained her during her illness. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends, colleagues and the scores of students whose lives she influenced during her brief teaching career.

Survivors include her parents, Gene and Beverly Van Buskirk, of Arcadia; her brother, Patrick (Julie) Van Buskirk, of Bayport, Minn.; her sister: Jennifer (Justin) Koepplin, of Rochester, Minn., her nieces, MacKenzie Van Buskirk and Ava Koepplin; her nephews, Zachary and Riley Van Buskirk, Alex and Elijah Armitage; her grandmothers, Bernice Van Buskirk, of Brownsdale, Minn., and Esther DeForth, of Cottage Grove, Minn.; several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Earl Van Buskirk and Marlyn DeForth; and one uncle, Lynn Van Buskirk.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 17, 2010, at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Reedsburg with Pastor David Glesne and Pastor Tim Anderson officiating. Friends and family may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials for ovarian cancer research would be appreciated.

The Hoof Funeral Home in Reedsburg is serving the family.
