VirtualBox is a great, free virtual machine platform, but it's not easy to copy ("clone") existing virtual machines (VMs). This video will show you how to do this, step-by-step, and give you some insight into how the VirtualBox XML files interact.

  • Sorry but, is not good way. Maybe only create clone vdi file and add new guest with clone vdi file.

  • @ertanerbek: Thanks for your input. You're correct--you can just add a new guest--but that requires using the GUI to manually go into every screen and change the settings to match your old guest. This process takes less time, and I can be sure that all the settings are exactly the same as the original Virtual Machine. I think that makes it a "good" way, but probably like you, I am hoping they come up with a one-click solution right in the software :)
