    I wish Mondale hadn't been so bitter over the primaries and had picked Hart to be his running mate. I doubt they would have won, but they would have done much better.

    On the note of this....It was funny, but it grinds my gears when politicians tell jokes to win debates. Despite this, Hart was still better, and despite "youth and inexperience" Mondale was better than Reagan. I think the big issue in 84 was A) low voter turnout and B) the fear of having someone from the Carter years in the White House
