@Rage4thepeople ......Rage I understand where you are,but the key to being at peace with yourself begins w/ the spirit! I'm not talking about religion.I'm talking about spirituality! Start by reading books on improving your spirituality and becoming grounded and closer to source(GOD).Read books on Alice Walker,Big Mama Thorton,Barbara Jordan and all of the great Lesbians in OUR herstory! Every time you look in the mirror you are looking at beautiful lesbian herstory in the making.

I've been hurting and longing for this kind of connection. I struggle to find myself as a young black masculine lesbian...I want to be the best woman I can be but I have so little references. Audre Lorde says its easier to be furious than it is to be yearning...I resent the old heads who have seen me lost and refused to offer me direction. I am dismissed as angry, outta control, youth...and yes I'm acting out to show that your influence is necessary in my life. -RFTP

Her comments are righteous. It is so important to have someone older, an elder, to affirm you--especially when you are a person of color, a woman, or a person w/ same sex preference, or nontraditional gender presentation. These groups often have little visibility/or positive representation. So, to have a person thats been down that rode or taken that journey before give advice and love to somene coming up is imperative and disperately needed.
