  • Nice track! But that video confused and worried me. Why? Well when i saw your EQ's i was astounded that many of them had boosts in the high range of around 18 dbs? I thought that boosting to many tracks in the same range would spike the master fader and or cause distortion. Your have more experiences than me how about an explanation heck maybe a video about the dos and dont's of eq? Thanks for your time making these videos.

  • @cheapspace The graphic at the top just puts it that way as a quick visual of what you have. You have to open them up to see what you have. There not all boosted that high. It's a couple of Dbs plus there not all playing at the same time and it's the sound I'm after.

  • @cheapspace The rule of thumb of EQ is to have bass parts with bass and cut the highs. Mids to have mid and cut the low and some highs. And highs to have highs and cut the low and low mids.. Once you have this starting point you then use your ears to BLEND all the sound so you have all the parts playing in the EQ range. But the point is if it sound good it's right! But as a starting point it makes you be more thoughtful of what sound you use and want. Hope this helped?

  • thanks for all the video tut i want to know if a can get a q6600 pc or should i get the i7

  • i7 would be better as the Q6600 is getting a bit old...

  • @best00000007 Oh. Well i had a idea but i never actually cut the highs off my bass hmm that may be causing some clarity problems in my mix. I have read to "never be satisfied at a soloed instrument as it may sound completely different within the mix" Man my problem has always been compression and eq. I get very involved with trying to "get it right" that i lose focus not finishing the track.. I guess i should just get on with it then eq and compress later. Well thanks for the reply.

  • thanks will get i7 and keep up the good work do u use sonar to master ur tracks

  • @best00000007 not sure now if i told you what to do so here go's.... No music was recorded through the mic. The music out of Sonar was fed to the mixer. The mic was only used for my voice. hope that sorted your Q... Bye for now..

  • yes! at the same time....

  • So are you recording the music that is playing from Sonar through the microphone? I know you have to record your own voice through the microphone, but what about the music playing in Sonar? Do you have to record that through the microphone too, or can you capture the screen and record the music playing in Sonar at the same time without the assistant of a microphone?
