Temptations - Night And Day (Original Stereo)

"Night and Day" was composed by Cole Porter for a 1932 musical called "The Gay Divorce" where it was introduced by Fred Astaire. Fred reprised his role a few years later in the film version renamed "The Gay Divorcee". The song has become arguably Cole's most popular through the years and has been recorded by many people. The Temptations recorded it in 1996 for an album entitled "For Lovers Only", and the song showcases the vocal talent of Theo Peoples. During the recording session for this album original Temptation Melvin Franklin died and was not able to complete this project. I am not certain whether "Night and Day" was recorded before or after Melvin's death, but the feeling Theo brings to this performance makes me think the latter. Today Theo is the lead singer for the Four Tops having replaced the late Levi Stubbs.

One of the best vocal mixes out of all the different vocal styles The Temptations went through consisted of Melvin, Otis, Ollie, who's voice was a blend of David and Dennis, Theo Peoples who was a nice match of Paul's voice and Tyson. Actually if Damen Harris had acted right he was Eddie to a tee.

Theo used to teach songs to my youth ministry's choir...if you go on my page I have a clip of him singing "My Faith Looks Up to Thee..." He used to let me call him play-daddy, now I guess I'm too old for that...lol! So I'll call him "big brother..." LOVE YOU THEO!!!!!!!
