  • Would a bad "pick up coil" cause a car not to start. I've got a 91 Camaro 3.1 liter v6, and I've replaced lots of things with the ignition. I'm thinking it's something with the distributor. It would be nice just to be able to get a new one of those and get my car running again.

  • @ALPHACHEESECURD yes, a bad pick up would keep you from having spark.

  • you are a life saver!! you just saved me about 100.00 buck!!! thanks so much.

  • Something to add: the end play between the gear and the washer should be 0.010-0.020, or it will effect the timing as the shaft moves up and down. I just rebuilt one with 0.060 end play! Mr Gasket makes a kit with a few different shim sizes, part # 2820

  • Doing mine today. First time ever. Thanks for the video. You made it look simple. One suggestion for your future viewers would be to replace the o-ring while the gear is off to prevent damaging it while stretching it over the gear. PFF member Boostdreamer.
