Kirk/Spock: A Love Story

Happy K/S Day, everyone!

This is my little contribution to the epicness that is the space husbands: from "I believe there's hope for you yet, Mr. Spock" to "I have been, and always shall be, yours" - and beyond. Seriously, this vid basically made itself. When you sit down with a design brief that is more or less make a happy love vid that features all the flirty bits and massive space love in TOS and the movies, you might as well just say make a vid that features EVERYTHING IN TOS AND THE MOVIES.

There is not as much dialogue as I would have liked. Most of the truly epic lines had atmospheric music playing in the background and I couldn't use them. Honestly, it's like they weren't even thinking about the vidders when they shot this stuff...

Incidentally, Generations didn't happen. Yup, turns out it was all a collective bad dream and Kirk died peacefully in Spock's arms at the ripe old age of 132, at their home in ShiKahr where they'd moved after Kirk's retirement from Starfleet. The way EPIC LOVE is supposed to end*.

I own none of this. The music is actually copyright free (YAY!) from http://incompetech.com/ - it's called Eternal Hope, which seemed kind of fitting. Star Trek, of course, is owned by the nice folks at Paramount. And I'm not making any profit either - my only reward is a kind of childlike excitement and skin the colour of porcelain because I spend too much time in front of my MacBook.


* I will allow Star Trek XI, on the grounds that it stars Zachary Quinto.

I temporarily went into a slash-coma after watching this vid. It's so nice to be able to see the progression of their relationship throughout the series and movies. Kirk/Spock foreva!!
