"Enigma" - Mitch Cooper - Studio Video - ALL LIVE IN ONE TRACK!

Although the video itself has been edited, this is a completely LIVE track with myself playing the bass AND the keyboards AT THE SAME TIME!! No studio tricks, no multi tracks - this is the real deal. There are mistakes during the recording that we were unable to fix - again due to the nature of this being live. The keyboard solo (around 2:10) also was not as planned but my goal was to show what we were able to do live. My favorite part is displaying a technique I've come up with for 'slapping' the bass one handed. It is shown at 1:58 on the video.

My one handed bass technique is the result of many years of honing the skill AND the quality and set-up of the bass I use. While I'm able to play one handed on most basses, I set mine up using highly "active" pick-ups, low action, and special coated strings. This combination allows the instrument to ring out when I 'tap' each string and allows the slides and pops to come through that otherwise would not be heard using a normal bass.

While many people are skeptics, I assure you this is not a hoax. Internet video plus editing allows for the creation of just about anything but is an honest live video and what you see in the base track of the video IS what's being recorded (minus the normal video compression lag). The other screen shots were taken later to showcase the multi-tasking. This has been my signature style of playing live for more than 8 years. Those close to Milwaukee have seen me perform live displaying my techniques - but I wanted to share my talent with the world so we shot a video.

playing bass and keyboard at the same time.. thats really hard!! im actually trying hard to juggle between my cdj turntable, pioneer efx, my bass and its gadgets. damn its hard.. i need another 5 years to master juggling all i think.. im making a hard rock band with electro/house vibes.. my guitarist is learning keyboard while playing guitar.. hee.. wish us luck..

Wow, this was probly one of the coolest things I've ever heard right next to my mom saying "I'm somewhat smart and I might have a life" and my stp dad getting arrested! The bass was great, I love how it was all tap.

This is very entertaining. My only negative observation is the video used too many camera editing tricks. It sort of took away from the experience.
