BBC One Idents Final Broadcast One Last Dance and Farewell

One Last Dance

Just before BBC One introduced their new, current idents, a special montage of the symbols which had previously defined BBC One for over four and half years aired just before BBC News took over for the night.

There were many regional differentions for the the montage, as not all regions used all of the idents, whilst many such as BBC Wales had their own.

The ballet dancers at The Minack open air Theatre in Cornwall, at the end of the montage may have stumped some people, as this ident was only intended to be broadcast upon the news of a funeral or a terrorist attack.

The ident aired very few times, one particular occurence was the announcement of Queen Elizabeth II Mother's death, on 31st March 2002.
