I like this tutorial, thank you very much! I would have put a bit more purple instead of the green, but either way it looks very good!

Looks great!!!

This is an excellent tutorial and black eye.I particularly like that you explain WHY the color is where it is.I do that whe I teach master classes. I might suggest mixing the yellow on the puffy part with a dab of hilite to brigthen it.Remember people theatre makeup is exxagerated to compensate for bright lights which bleach pigment as well as distance.

I actually have a black eye ATM and at around one minute into the vid it was spot on. I love the thought process behind the technique :)

that's one color full eye?!?

This is great! In the show I'm in, we have a black eye in Act 1 and Act 2 and I'm in charge of makeup. This is really helpful! Thanks a ton!

Please remember this is Theatrical Makeup. It is meant to be viewed from 20'+ away.
If one was doing the makeup for film/video; then it would need to be less exaggerated.

What would you use for removal of these techniques? Would you just use baby oil like you would on regular stage makeups?

This is regular stage makeup.
Cold Cream works well, including those pre-moistened wipes.

could you use black eye shaddow ?

You wouldn't get the same results as using true theatrical makeup, but use what you can!
