Our first day arriving at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, 9/20/08. Many pictures of the grounds and amenities. This is the first installment of a two day late summer holiday.

That was wonderful! I have love "Somewhere in Time" since I was a little girl. There is something about the music that is haunting. So much so that I made it a part of my wedding. The music that you have on your video is exactly what I walked down the isle to.. so thank you for sharing. It is truly a magical place and those that have experienced it will agree. If you haven't been there... make it a point to at least visit. It will be a trip you will never forget! :)

Went to the island years ago and liked it very much, didn't stay at the Grand Hotel
but we went up to it just to look around the lobby area and the beautiful grounds.
The hotel has the longest porch in the world, I read that years ago in the old
newspaper feature "Ripley's believe it or not".

It's funny that people are so stuck on this movie and that the owner of the Grand absolutely hates it.

Worked there in 1985-86 as a groundskeeper....My favorite place in the world.
