This is part of the finale of the Village of Royal Palm Beach fireworks display over Lake Challenger near the corner of Royal Palm Beach Blvd. and State Road 80 (Southern Blvd.) around 11:18 p.m. Sunday, July 4, 2010. This was the first time the village of around 25,000 people fired the display over the lake in several years, due to road, park and housing construction. The show was delayed by an hour when the fireworks company had to move its barge to the center of the lake. The crowd, which began cheering "FIRE - WORKS!" got more than it bargained for, offering huge applause and cheers after the near-30-minute free show. The show was the culmination of an afternoon of a family fishing tourney, carnival rides and attractions, food and drinks, children's activities, dancing and music, barbecue and more.
