I loved this movie. Saw it first run. But only now, years later, do I wonder, why is Buckaroo dressed like Peewee Herman?

@somercet1 Clancy Brown is also a graduate of the St. Albans School in Washington, DC as is Jeffrey Wright (Basquiat, Casino Royale) and Robert Wisdom who played "Bunny" on "The Wire."

@MrUnidyne Sorry, I meant he has a masters in Roman Art and a PhD in Renaissance Art, and is working on his masters.

@boyakasha777 I agree with you. Perhaps the film had a great impact on him. Not only does he have a PhD in Renaissance Art and a MA in Roman Art (and working on his Master's), but he's also fluent in French and teaches a literature and fine arts class at Syracuse University.

I think one of the funniest scenes is when Jon Lithgow is telling everyone to extinquish all smoking material, fasten you seatbelts.......as they travel into the 8th dimension

I wonder if the character of Buckaroo inspired Weller to go back to school in any way? Now he has an MA and almost a PhD in Renaissance art and does docos for the history channel. I think that's cool. I like the idea of Buckaroo being an inspiration. Have no idea if its true, but I'd like to think so.
