PS, I love the Philippines, I just fear that fundamentalism has been holding it back for decades now. It doesn't help that the government is incredibly corrupt, which is the another major obstacle. Poverty is solvable, but not by having half a dozen children.

I am a devout Catholic, but I DO believe in the use of contraceptives and government incentives to have LESS children. The Vatican will NEVER support such ideas, so it's up to Filipinos to initiate change.
