  • Just wanted to update: this tutorial has helped me so much! I tried 2x2 a few months ago but had no clear way of teaching it, and we both became frustrated. Now a few months later, we are having an awesome time and she's getting it! :D Thank you!!!

  • @23Nellie1 I'm so glad it helped you! I love this method!

  • ok what happens if he dont go thought them

  • @agilitydogtrainer1 He should. Hold a treat on one side and coax him through. And reward when he goes through.

  • i have a few questions.

    1. My dog is just learning and she is 2 we are still learning to jump on comand. what should i work on next like in order because i was thinking about doing this but i'm not sure if she would be ready....?

    2. where do you get the agility jumps, weaves, tunnel, & like dog walk? I can't find them any where so if it means i gotta make my own ok then lol

  • @TheIssabella1 For you first question- You should work on the jumps first. And, she is ready for training at any time =) It's just for fun. SO if you want to start with the 2x2s, go ahead! Take it slowly though! You want her to do it independantly.

And, search "agility equipment" on google and tons should come up on places where to get equipment. I make mine, it's easier!

  • ur dog kinda acts like my dog pepper and this will help to train her.

  • Very good tutorial. Clear instructions and good examples. Nice to see that you were able to achieve such great results with homemade equipment. I was afraid that I would have to spend a bunch of money on steel based 2 x 2's. I can make your version out of pvc pipe really inexpensively. I'd rather spend the money on a quality set of 12 poles when the training period is over. Thanks!

  • Great tutorial!!

It has helped me a lot!!

  • Started my sweet little beagle Madison on agility about a year ago. She is a little older so we do it mostly for fun. I signed her up for agility class and they taught the channel method for weaves. The border collies got it, Madison not so much. Thanks to this video she is a pro now! Weaves was the last obstacle she had to master. Thank you so much for posting this...you have a fan in Colorado.

  • The poles are at about the same as 2:17 and Nellie doesn't go through them. She cuts out after the first one. Should we go back a step?? Help!

  • Thanks for this, i've just started introducing my 2 1/2 yr old GSD to agility and even though i had figured this was the best way to introduce the weave, it's great to see it in action and is well explained, nicely done!

  • great video!

    thanks a lot :)

  • Did you build your weaves? What are the specifications of them? Great video. I love 2x2.
