[Madison, Wisc..] Three weeks after Senate Democrats fled the state, the Wisconsin State Senate passed the bulk of the Budget Repair Bill in a series of surprise moves Wednesday.

Late in the afternoon Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald and the GOP lawmakers assembled for the Special Session voted to send the bill to a bipartisan conference committee.

That committee met, voted on the bill and sent it to the State Senate, which passed the bill on an 18-1 vote moments later.

The unamendable bill now awaits action in the State Assembly where passage is expected.

MacIver News Service's Bill Osmulski reports from Madison.

  • This is one "young" video. =p

  • This vid is a favorite on Addis Ababa

  • Liars.

  • @Faygo069 Oh, he's hated all right. And it'll come out at the next election. And don't criticize me for saying the obvious. Some people are just too thick skulled to listen to reason, let alone the truth.

  • @sep0507 sorry, but when people say things that are true, it always shows in how angry the other person reacts. You sound pissed and have to call the other guy names and capitalize ignorant. Scott Walker clearly just wants everyone to hate him because it makes his job easier to be hated.

  • sep0507 = so you pay IN $50.00 a month? And that will be your monthly pension when you retire? (are you deferring any taxes as well?) Is that how that works? YOU are the reason I do not want to pay any "taxes" = they just go down the State & federal pension drain hole for your cozy early retirement! (and golden health care costs I pay also)

  • @memama2 100%, smart ass! How can that be? Because the "contributions" consist of money that employees chose to take as deferred wages – as pensions when they retire – rather than take immediately in cash. You're hung up on "union thugs" when the real thugs occupy the govenors mansion and the peoples houses! If you were stupid, I'd feel sorry for you. But you're just IGNORANT of the facts. Now you know.

  • sep0507 = How much are "they" paying into their pensions fund smart arse? You seem to know! What am I paying? Add on all the golden medical care union thugs got listed as ANOTHER allowable benefit? PLEA$E...list out the maximum pension dues (paid per year) Thanks!

  • @memama2 My Plan? How about YOUR plan. You pay into SS at a lower rate than union members pay into their pension fund. REMOVE the word PENSION and replace it with Social Security, you wouldn't be arguing your point. You would ACCEPT the fact that each worker is entitled to SS. But since they have a pension fund, and are NOT entitled to SS, you've got a problem? You're out on a limb all by yourself. The majority of taxpayers in this country have NO problem with unions OR public employees. IDIOT!

  • sep0507 - the money is being scammed into a pension being paid to "retired" government workers from Age 50 to Age 109! & all their medical costs & various assorted benefits. YOUR PLAN? Was to cause the rest of the non union workers to pay into these multi million dollar pensions with them WORKING until they dropped dead on the job (and now owebummer plans on stealing their investment money in mass taxes to add to his pensionaires ponzi scam) ...yer an obot idiot & cryin about WHERE'$ MY MONEY
