Twenty years ago at the age of 8, young Christian witnessed the murder/suicide of his parents. We pick up his story today. Christian, now 28, has turned his traumatic past into a creative well that he can dip into at any time to become a much sought after writer and artist. Unfortunately, due to his use of drugs, he walks a fine line between sanity and madness that makes his grip on reality even more tenuous. Into his life comes Beth. She is the new assistant editor at the Detroit Underground, the local independent paper where Christian draws a regular paycheck to supplement his trust fund. Beth bears a striking resemblance to Christian's mother and when they meet for the first time the walls that Christian has built around his psyche begin to crumble. Added to the mix are Beth's abusive boyfriend, Mark, and her shy lovesick co-worker, John. When all of these characters' lives intersect because of their relationship with Beth, they affect each other in ways none of them would have suspected. Christian sees in Beth the hope for a normal life but is pushed over the edge into madness due to a combination of events that all players have a hand in. Mark falls from grace in Beth's eyes to become what she fears most. John, ever on the outside looking in, sees suicide as his only option. At the center of this is Beth, unknowing catalyst to the events that unfold - the death of one man, the loss of hope for another, and the eventual redemption of a third.

  • First off, this script was written in '96. The script finished in the Top 250 of the first year of Project Greenlight which was in 2000. The fact that several other films came out the same year with the same title is purely coincidental and unfortunately being a smaller film, it will be assumed that we were the ones who came out last. What can you do?

  • The song is by PopEvil who just signed to Universal Records earlier in the month!

  • does anyone know the song playing ?

    thanks in advance

  • I saw the other Broken movie and it's not the same at all so let it go both of you.

  • Constructive criticism is a compassionate attitude towards the person qualified for criticism. Having higher experience, gifts, respect, knowledge in specific field and being able to verbally convince at the same time, this person is intending to uplift the other person materially, morally, emotionally or spiritually.

  • I am connected to this film. But you already knew that cuz you know who I am and I know who your are. Just for fun though, let's define Constructive Criticism so the next time you say that you will be able to use it correctly and not sound like a complete moron. Just so you aren't confussed the definition will be in the next reply.

  • I was simply stating how I happened to find this trailer, decided to give watch it, then offered some constructive criticism.

If you are somehow connected to this film and take offense from what I've said, you are either in the wrong industry or need to develop thicker skin.

  • Make sure you say that you only found this by looking for the Heather Graham movie or people might think you are a fake profile. Get a life. You are pathetic.

  • What is up with this lighting? And where did they dig up the male lead? I mean, I'll cut him some slack if it's his first job or something, but his over-acting is pretty dreadful. The shooting up part in particular looks really fake. (I found this while looking for the Heather Graham movie of the same name... did the writer/director/producers/whomever not check their title against other movies being released around the same time?)
