The Nurse Who Teaches

The nurse does more than heal.
The nurse does more than tend.
The nurse shares wisdom,
the greatest gift. The nurse informs
and guides and assists. The nurse
is a practitioner of truth, but comfort
is the nurse's muse.

The nurse is there to lead the way
into the light of healthy days.
When patients often feel alone, the nurse
can help them feel at home.
The nurse who teaches does more than care.
The nurse who teaches is the nurse who shares.
