Tatanka-Iyotanka
(1831-1890)
A Hunkpapa Lakota chief and holy man under whom the Lakota tribes united in their struggle for survival on the northern plains, Sitting Bull remained defiant toward American military power and contemptuous of American promises to the end.
@gummihjerne, guess what? I'm impressed. :)

I'll rename my son as soon as I can then! :-) And by the way, pretty cool to be related to Sitting Bull. And all the best to you too.

@gummihjerne Hoka Hey a comedian among us, for a moment there I felt my ancestors very far removed were only talking of visions of falling soldiers...maybe you are onto something! "you pamper the child". my father is a far removed relative of Sitting Bull and there are many of us, bled out sadly, but seriously I hope you name your children something beautiful and easy to tease, maybe you will become famous as well! Best to you~

I'm glad on the behalf of Sitting Bull his parents didn't put a "h" in his name. He would have appeared much less impressive...

Native Americans actually encountered 5 species of horse when they arrived in the Americas around 17,000 years ago. They made each extinct through hunting. The horse as a species actually evolved in North America and migrated to Asia and then Europe.
