HERE'S AN EXAMPLE SENTENCE GUYS

ケーキを食べます
ke-ki (w)o tabemasu
I eat cake

So we have the katakana being used for the word ke-ki (ケーキ) which means Cake which is obviously a loan word from English.

Then we have the particle wo (を)which is written in hiragana because it's a particle of speech.

Then we have the kanji for 'eat' which in this case is pronounced ta (食). This is a verb beginning, so a kanji is always used.

Lastly we have the rest of the verb, in this case it is conjugated to present/future tense. bemasu (べます) is added onto ta, and it is a verb conjugation (it's conjugated from the basic verb taberu). Therefore it is written in hiragana :)

Hope this video cleared some stuff up for you guys! As always don't hessitate to message me with questions, and good luck :D
