Cover version of the one and only Charlie Kunz Video on You Tube. I hope you enjoy the music and style of the greatest exponant of the forward tenth style of playing. His touch on the Keys is truly inimitable.
My version is only a shadow of the original. Look up Charlie Kunz in the search box and play the 1934 classic video see for yourself . It is very difficult to emulate Charlies exact Style and touch on the keys. (But then he was a big star of his time). I hope that there are "You Tubers" out there who still want to listen and appreciate the bygone age of gentle music. The tunes are " Poor Butterfly" (I was amazed to find that I could still download this very old piece from Sheetmusicdirect.com.) "After you,ve gone" and "Whispering".Thank you to all who listen to and read this description. Stop Press. I have just discovered some Charlie Kunz Vids on old British Pathe Newsreels- look them up- type ITN Source in the web search box and then type Charlie Kunz in the ITN website searchbox see what you think to them. You can download them free if you register. My favourite is Charlie playing an "impromptu" medley on the tarmac next to a bi-plane ready to fly off to the Isle of Man for a gig - no seat belts in those days. Wonderful nostalga footage from the distant past. Best Regards David

  • What an incredible rendition. If I hadnt known better I would have said that was an early recording of Charlie Kunz. He had a unique and very enjoyable style of playing. And this is incredibly enjoyable . Wish I could play lke that, instead of constant classical music. Now way too old to learn, I have tried but cant master the timing etc.

  • @steinwaygrande1 Thank you for your most gracious comment. I just finished typing a message to you but find I cannot send it to you as you have blocked some messages. You must have a reason.

    Anyway best wishes from me.

  • @forwardtenth Hi David. I recently had my computer in for repairs adn for some reason after getting it back, some people can not send me messages and others can. I have not the faintest idea why this is happening nor do I have the computer skills to solve this problem. I do have a collection of Charlie Kunz on the old 33 1/3rd RPM records and a friend of mine who was kin England several years ago brought me back about a dozen CDs of Charlie Kunz. Great to listen to on long car journeys.

    Peter
