  • Abstinence education is not teaching how to have safe sex, only avoid sex. Sex is a natural biological urge - teach the kids how to do it safe.

  • Abstinence only education is so fail. All independent studies have shown that the do not decrease the spread of STD or teen pregnancy, but the do slightly increase the time before for having sex, by ~6 months at which point the studies with abstinence only education are more likely to have unprotected sex... FAIL!

  • Smoking and Sex are completely different. What an idiot. Sex is something that everyone will do, at some point in their life and can be destructive if you're not taking care of yourself in regards to it. Smoking is always bad.

  • I guess he bent her over the desk and "abstinenced" the hell out of her.

  • @quiksilvr You're exactly right. I agree with you, but I actually think that there are such things as objective right and wrong. I was addressing it based on what the other guy said, that there is no objective morality. If that is true, then saying one thing and doing another is, by definition, not wrong, it's just different than what some people approve of. I was just asking for a little consistency, that's all.

  • @tbagcimc I'm pretty sure the problem is that it's facetious to run on a "family values" platform in and of itself. Acting morally superior when in reality, you're just like everybody else.

    That's the punchline.

  • @bj07bran7 Doesn't matter. If morality is subjective, then you can't say he did anything objectively wrong. Maybe in his worldview being a hypocrite is just fine. You can disagree with that but, according to your own statements, you can't say that it's wrong. Wait, I just thought of something. You said that morality is subjective, then you condemned someone for doing something wrong. So you said one thing and then did the opposite. So you are also a hypocrite. I love it.

  • @tbagcimc Are you serious. He is held public office. Power was in his hands and his decisions affected people

There is no place for that kind of philosophy in relation to these politicians...they are public SERVANTS and should act accordingly.

Me and you payed this guy's salary!!!! come on

but yea yea morality is subjective.

  • @bj07bran7 If morality is subjective, then there isn't anything objectively wrong with being a hypocrite.

  • aww. she laughs at his lame jokes! must be love, sweet love....
