The Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw (JOC) is a big band existing of 18 of the most talented jazz
musicians of The Netherlands. The orchestra mainly plays contemporary music written for big jazz ensembles and by Dutch composers. Annually, averagely 35 concerts are given and in recent years, a library of over 800 compositions and arrangements has been built. The Jazz Orchestra frequently collaborates with worldrenowned guest soloists, like Chick Corea, Branford Marsalis, Mc Coy Tyner, Lew Tabackin, James Carter, Richard Galliano, Deborah Brown, Madeline Bell, George Duke, Ellen ten Damme, Oleta Adams, Benny Golson, Trijntje Oosterhuis, Lee Konitz, Roy Hargrove, Dennis Mackrel, Toots Thielemans, Ack van Rooyen, Rita Reys, Bert Joris, Mathilde Santing, Miranda van Kralingen, Joe Lovano, Joe Henderson, Han Bennink, Johnny Griffin, Misha Mengelberg and Dee Dee Bridgewater.
