Please put a simple comment on this video to answer the questions? - Were you aware that MRT is a charity and run by volunteers, on call 24 hours a day 365 days a year? Do you beleive this video will help reduce the number of avoidable callouts?

Nice to see Eagle Crag there in the distance from Stonethwaite. As a regular visitor to the lakes I know full that MR are a charity & what a valuable asset they are. Many a time I have seen the guys out on a call even when the weather has been fantastic. My view is never take chances, especially if you are new to walking. My first mistake was underestimating the length of a walk which resulted in us having to turn back because light was running out. Experience is a great thing to have

I'd really like to find a video that I could link to from my website, that gives clear simple advice on how to be safe - what clothes to wear, what kit to take, how to prepare. Something more targetted could help reduce avoidable callouts.

In answer to your request about if this video tells people enough about the MRT I'd say yes... However if your intention is to PREVENT emergencies I'd say no. If you put a video here with a title like: 'Be Safe on the Mountains - 5 Important Steps' you may get more interest & therefore prevent more call outs.

Thanks for this, it's really helpful as we are contemplating climbing/walking Scafell Pike in August, as three families. One of us has done it before, but the rest of us are Scafell novices (although fairly fit and active).
