Roger Hodgson discusses the creation process of some of the classics he wrote and composed such as The Awakening, Dreamer, The Logical Song, Take the Long Way Home, Lord is it Mine, Give a Little Bit, and so many more. Many of Roger's songs that were recorded with Supertramp, the band he co-founded, were written and composed by Roger before he met Rick and formed the band. Roger goes on to explain that his songs were complete before he took them to the band and were therefore not influenced by lyric or composition changes by the band members. Even thought Roger and Rick shared writing credit, they each wrote and composed separately.

Roger is currently on his worldwide tour. See Roger perform these gems that he discusses plus amazing material from his solo albums. Roger's concerts are fantastic and earn glowing reviews wherever he goes. • How odd that about 444 in to this video clip he makes an illuminati symbol with his hand. Would so hope this was not intentional as his music has always seemed to be of a Higher kind. Seems entirely out of character.

  • He is a truly Renascence man. A true Troubadour who's soulful and thoughtful music has fulfilled the hearts of millions of fans around the world. I'm so thankful for being one of them...

  • my mother is crazy about roger hodgson, and she desperately wanted to meet him after seeing one of his recent shows. we decided to sneak back to see if we could meet him. when he found out that we had done so, instead of kicking us out he brought us inside his trailer to have a conversation about music and our lives. well said, a beautiful man/musician.

  • Respect respect...inspiration from Rodger comes to me!

  • Esta musica e minha oracao

  • I just saw this interview, just last night, and I am watching again today, I feel like I know this person, it's like I knew the things he was going to say.

Long time ago I listened for the 1rst time "hide in your shell" and that song simply got into my soul, and when I came to listen to all the other records, connected each time more. He is a beautiful human being.

"Letting go of the past,... forgiving yourself for the past, forgiving others, and that's the way you become free" speaks to me.

  • Why didnt he record "The Awakening" in studio and released it within the 79' or 83' album? Its perfect. I would have loved to hear it with the 70s music style T.T

  • Excellent interview and back-story on many great songs.

  • a pure genius
