The fact that they didn't make it big and sell out doesn't bother me at all. Every one of my friends that say they are one of their favorite bands of all time. Peppi and the boys can know that they are legends around here. I'm taking my boat to the Jefferson House tomorrow to thank Peppi for all the good music he has made.

THANK YOU Yes Man for posting these songs. I was at the late show. I haven't seen any post from that show. So thank you for reminding us what A GREAT BAND the GOOD RATS are. This band should have been up there with the big time bands. They may have made it big, but to quote one of Peppi's song.... I'D RATHER CLEAN THE CAGES AT THE ZOO THAN TO CHANGE MY SONGS FOR YOU. bad timing ,they were actually to good of a band. their music can make you cry it's so good. rock was'nt ready for them at the time....i guess?

Boston sounded like them, eh? 10 years later and basically the same sound by a different band takes the country by storm. These guys are wonderful and haven't lost a step.

Were they ahead of their time or did they just have bad timing? One of the those great bands that most have never heard of. First saw them in Denver opening for David Bromberg and they drove th ecrowd mad.

I used to see The Rats all the time on Long Island. They used to play at a place called Ubies OTJ(sp) in West Islip. When the place closed down The Rats played the last 3 night at the place to close it. They were the first band I saw to play original music on Long Island.

joey the cat gatto...at the showplace in dover nj...would go to the back of the barroom and climb on top of the bar and play...great to see these guys together

Long live the Good Rats. Used to see them all the time at a great club in Stony Brook called Tuey's,Hammerheads in West Islip & some joint in Deer Park that I don't even remember the name of. Was always a great party whenever the Rats played. Anyone who missed them in their prime can relive them here. Thanks for the posting.
