Hi everybody! here you are me trying to play a jota, this is a 3/4 type of tune very common in a few of the different types of traditional music in Spain. This one is from Castille, from the repertoire of dulzaina, and I'm trying to play it in the same key as they play with this beautiful instrument, that is quite difficult on the english concertina! I hope you can see clearly the tune even with the mistakes I'm doing!

  • very nice!

  • Thank you Mike!

Dulzaina is an a double reed instrument from the oboe family (like the breton bombarde). There are many varieties of dulzaina in Spain. But the one they play in Castilian music is a lovely instrument, completely full of keys. It is usually tuned in F# and that is why I play this tune in B Major.

  • Great a complex piece and rhythm

    What is a dulzaina please

  • Thanks a lot!
