the beauty of direct democracy would be that if you are in the minority, you would be perfectly justified in saying "fuck you, im out!"..if most people around you have beliefs different than your own and you dont like the way things are going then you will be free to leave, as sad as it may be..i hate what america is becoming, but if those around me want it this way..how can i not feel inclined to leave?...no, i wont let the door hit me on the way out...i hate texas and i hate america, fuck you!

@dubified89 having said that, i have to agree with you...whoever pays the bills with the mass media gets what they want.(how did our president get elected?)..thats the sick truth of it all....only those with a mind of their own, and those who can "stomach" all this shit and actually THINK about it, can then cast a legitimate vote.. i went off on my own mother about whats goin on and she said i was listening to too much "propaganda"... it was depressing for her...so she gets a pass..poor old gal.

@dubified89 ...i dont know man, the majority seems to be "in the know" about the issues that matter...would we be in libya, yemen or afghan if the people could vote on it? would the largest corporations in the world not have to pay taxes? would it be ok to screw my parents out of their social security? ect, ect..direct democracy can have its ugly side of course...but leavin such choices up to people who clearly do not and would not, give a fuck...is...well..not really workin out..as you can see.

@ARNTORXWINDIRX1184 If we had direct democracy starting right now I think it could potentially go very badly, because most people are still ignorant to the issues and are watching either CNN for information or nothing. Could it potentially be better than the oligarchy rule we have now? Possibly, but I think there are other ideas that are better.

When you boil it down ALL government is actually run through force/coercion. Even if taxes are low, they're still forcing you to pay them with the threat of arrest if you refuse to pay them even if you disagree with what they're being spent on. Anarchism is the only real full libertarian movement in my opinion, specifically individualist anarchism not the Chomsky collectivist branch.
