While walking through the Watchung Reservation, Union County, NJ, we noticed a flash of light off the trail. It was a Northern Water Snake struggling to corral a yellow perch it had just caught below the Lake Surprise dam.
To swallow the entire fish required about an hour.
Fascinating and a bit ghoulish.
