The system has batteries smart guy. The windmill and solar panels do not directly light the lamp, instead, the lamp is battery powered and the two sources charge the system.

The windmill spins, making the energy for the light, so you only get light when it is windy. Then the solar panels run the light during the day. Brilliant.
