From a show in Belgium with Sage Francis, DiViNCi from the Solillaquists of Sound uses his two Drum Machines to play his extended rendition of the National Anthem (Jimi Hendrix style) with "guitar" sounds he made from a single snare sample. He further explains this process here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j42SdmiU0kg.

  • how do you know this is from a single snare sample?.... unless he used a kaoss padd with it i don't see that... you can see him hit the sample and it def plays longer than a snare and sounds nothing like one...hmmmm.... nah not seein it... even with it looping like a sine wave to creat a guitar sond not seeing that as one snare unless it was heavily fkd with b4 hand...

  • From DiViNCi:

"..that is in fact a snare sound, I often make synth sounds in the MPC out of them. He is right about it being heavily f'kd with though, but it is all done within the MPC and running through a wah pedal.

  • ah i didn't see a wah pedal ok.i can see that. so you just have the snare as a note of and loop the sine wave of it? interesting. i tend to forget that these vids are often out of sync with the adudio so as far as how long the sample in relation to the way you hit the pad i guess would be retarded anyway huh.(i assume thats you? )nice to see cats doing new an original stuff with the mpc.

  • I'll be sure to pass the love on to divinci.

  • Dope!!!!

  • @kcutz It's not that amazing, even the MPC60 had pitching capabilities.

  • note to self,

Never buy an MPC from anyone on Ebay with the username DiViNCi or GlitterWhale!!!

  • plus he is playing all that live on a drum machine...he plays live for their shows too not an easy task

  • not so much how he is playing it that is impressive. Plus what it says there about him getting all those sounds from one snare sample is the legit truth. That man is a god with an MPC

  • play ball!!!!

  • not to talk shit because i do dig all these guys but, how is this any more impressive than anyone hooking a wah and distortion pedal up to a keyboard?
