Now there's a legal fight over all those millions. (July 9)Millions of people around the world opened their hearts-- and their wallets-- for this adorable polar bear. And that's led to a legal fight over Knut (kuh-NOOT'). Two German zoos are now fighting for a slice of the Knut goldmine. The zoo that owns Knut's father says it has the right to proceeds from the polar bear's huge success. So it's now taking the Berlin Zoo to court. Knut became a media phenomenon in early 2007. That's when the cub's mother rejected him at birth... and keepers at the Berlin Zoo began to hand raise him. Animal lovers from around the world fell in love with the cub and many traveled to see him. SOT: "We're from Connecticut, we came here for Knut's birthday, and have been following him on the blog. We're thrilled to be here. Love the boy..." Last year, the Berlin Zoo reported a sharp increase in the number of zoo visitors. And said it made nearly 11-million dollars. The zoo also makes money off all kinds of Knut products including stuffed animals, t-shirts, mugs and DVDs. Knut-- who weighed less than two pounds at birth-- was recently put on a diet after packing on more than 243 pounds. While the bear has gained some unwanted pounds, he appears to be healthy-- much to the delight of zoo visitors. ___ ___, The Associated Press.

Don't be silly. This animal was born into the zoo and was rejected by his mother, so humans had to take care of him. If he would be left in the wild, he would probably die, even now, he's not used and don't know how to feed himself. Polar bears eat dosins of kilos of food each day. The problem is why his mother was in the zoo?
