I fish in the Florida everglades all the time... throw a lot of frogs and big worms/snake lures into the thick pads. I used to use a double uni knot to tie flourocarbon leader on braid. I switched to this version of the slim beauty about 7 years ago and my personal experience is that it is the best knot for that purpose I have ever used. It is small going through the rod guides and does not slip. You just have to learn to tighten it correctly to get it to cinch up properly.
Ok, now I tried this several times and my knot just looks like a slim mess. It is just impossible to get sever perfect laps up and seven perfect laps over them back.
@AgentOfWrath100 Thanks for the tip, I couldn't get my Fluro leader to form the figure 8 with 2 turns but it works fine with 3.

tied this knot twice today and both times it let go while throwing an 8oz weight. massive backlash on my new reel. grrrrrr
