I don't think there is any bad horsemanship or handling involved, they are just very fit, excited horses who know that they are at a competition. I do agree that they should wear hats when running them though!

It looks like they were just taken off the trailer with no warm up and brought straight here. I also think something was spooking them not necessarily that the handlers don't know what they are doing.
