Adam Rafferty - "Som*ewhe*re" - W*est Si*de St*ory - Solo Acoustic Fingerstyle Guitar

I hope you enjoy this version of "Somewhere" - composed by Leonard Bernstein, lyrics by Stephen Sondheim.

I first heard this song on the Oscar Peterson Trio album "West Side Story". In learning it recently I investigated the actual movie version of the song, and then found a killer Barbara Streisand video version as well. What a tune.

And yes, it is supposed to be pretty - but with a dark edge....not just syrupy and pretty! Check out the story and you'll know why...

It's part of my ongoing musical quest to play beautiful music on guitar, but for an audience bigger than just musicians, and older than me...so - what I am saying is that this is a tune my mom would know :-)
