On December 29, 2009 the 6th ranked West Virginia Mountaineers defeated Big East opponent Marquette 63-62 in Morgantown, West Virginia. The Mountaineers were down by 5 with less than a minute to go. Da'Sean Butler hit the game winning shot with 2.3 seconds left.

Purdue is the only loss WVU should have this year...could have won every single other game if we could make our foul shots and the ND and UCONN games were just a load of crap...stupid refs but this game was definitely my favorite to watch! What a thriller! and Da'Sean saves the game! I remember it so well, I leaped out of my chair when he made that...I would have been pissed if I was a Marquette fan...good thing I'm not...go WVU!!!
