This is a great way to welcome new students to the library. These students will spend the next several years in this space and I think it is important that they have a positive first experience. Well done.

I disagree. Libraries should be friendly. Art should be fun. Let students eat drink and be merry in the Library!

I disagree. It's a GREAT idea. Libraries should be friendly. Art should be fun. Students should eat, drink, scream, and be happy to be in a Library,!

Bad idea. If it is not ok to eat and make noise in a library the rest of the year, then it is not ok to eat and make noise in the library ever. In their desperation to entice students to use the library librarians send mixed signals. If students don't wish to use a library then it is their loss. Catering to students with stunts like this simply makes librarians look like fools and keeps librarians from being taken seriously. A university library is not a kindergarten.

This is such a cute idea. :) Wish my university library had been so inviting.
