  • its bad...... the original is much better

  • Hi Nominee and all you others for your criticisms and plaudits. I am proud of what we did and I thank all of the participants. I did comment long ago about the PA set-up, but that is a problem that can beset anyone. All I can say is keep watching and enjoying. God willing, there is a possibility we will be able to have another performance of this show within the next 12 months, so please pray for us, as there will always be room for improvement. God Bless.

  • Hmmmm...i have mixed feelings about the reworking of the piece in this style. This arrangement is a bit garish in places with rising chromatic sequences just thrown about willy nilly. The last note out of the soloist was flat. i did like the enthusiasm and facial engaging of the singers. They seemed to be having a rocking good time, and that's almost as important as musicality.

  • Thanks for the critique. A long evening and a huge amount of work during that day probably contributed to where our folks dropped the ball in places. Hopefully we have learned from aur errors, and ensure that musicality is not sacrificed. Very few of the participants are professionals so I applaud their effort. Those that are blessed us. I think the next time we do this, it will be unquestionably even more special.

  • alright so. im only freshman in high school, but i can tell you this was practically spectacular!

im in choir, and we're singing this song for our holiday concert this season and OMG! i love it! i also partake in the orchestra and i only wish we got to play this with our choir..but then again, i always pick playing over singing(its my life)..so i wouldn't get to sing this amazing song.

anywho! this was truly extraordinary and im totally gonna listen to it again!

    :)

Thanks for your remarks. If we ever do this again, we will take all constructive comments into consideration and strive for the improvement we see there is still need of.If your High Schoool does get inspired to do the whole production, get it on Youtube.

  • I like the original version better... George Frideric Handel's version, especially when the Mormon Tabernacle Choir sings it. Now don't get me wrong, I was looking for different choirs singing such a piece. I agree with @patrick9648, It's better to have hanging lavaliers, so the sound can be balanced with out having people "Hogging" the standing mics.

  • c I noticed that there are microphones scattered throughout the group. which causes balance problems because some people will "hog" the mike and others cant be heard. the best way to record a choir is with over head mikes placed further away so they don't have hot spots. The trick is to mike exactly what the conductor hears and not turn it all over to the sound man, who may or not be a musician. for recording use a single L/R pair over the front of the stage.

  • great voices!! brass instruments kindda off key though,
