occorrerebbe essere poeti per dare un nome a quello che non cè...
per dare un nome a ciò che forse è stato...
alleco della carezza sulla guancia quando non cè più la mano
.
se passerà di qui un poeta, lo prego dinventarlo
il nome di ciò che resta quando non cè più nulla...
il nome del nulla
.
lo prego con sofferta dolcezza il mio poeta
se mai si trovasse di qui a passare...
.
se mai di qui passasse quel poeta...
lo prego di dare voce e nome al nulla...
affinché del nulla resti traccia
.
affinché il nulla lasci tracce sensibili di vita sulla guancia
.
il cielo è sereno quando ha conosciuto il nulla

.

the name of what is left when there's nothing left...
the name of the nothingness
.
I pray my poet with painful sweetness
If ever he were to pass from here ...
.
If ever, that poet were to pass from here...
I ask him to give voice and name to the nothingness...
So that nothingness may leave a trace
.
So that Nothingness leaves sensitive traces of life on the cheek
.
The sky is calm and clear after it experienced the nothingness
After it experienced its nothingness
