Though his views on GLB people are archaic and ridiculous, I don't think you have to feel that way to feel offended by this. The event was, AFAICT, intended to honor veterans, so his statements are not appropriate for the event. And the offense is just compounded when you consider that the sort of people he's casting off as "lacy-drawered" and "limp-wristed" are among the veterans he's supposedly honoring!
